After gaining a degree in Politics, Alex began working in Rural Regeneration and later Strategic Planning for a District Council before spending a number of years helping farmers to access Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) funds – in that time gaining grant funding for everything from milk processing equipment to an elephant enclosure! Since taking up a role with the NFU in 2011 Alex has worked across the whole agricultural spectrum, principally in the South West region with standout areas of work including flooding support on the Somerset Levels, coordinating EU Referendum and General Election activity, aiding NFU members through various incarnations of the Common Agricultural Policy and leading on lobbying and stakeholder engagement. In April 2024 Alex took up the national NFU role of Chief Sustainable Supply Chains Adviser.

Estelle Herszenhorn is Head of Food System Transformation and is responsible for leading WRAP’s global work on reducing the greenhouse gas (GHG) impact of food, reducing food waste and increasing sustainable water management – including through our world-leading voluntary agreements.

Estelle is a sustainability and circular economy impact-focussed leader, with over two decades of applied experience - collaborating with businesses, government and other organisations to secure change and impact.

Estelle has worked with many sectors, including construction, and, for the last 12 years, food and drink. Estelle has worked on food waste prevention from farm to fork, led groundbreaking research and is developing our exciting new work on climate and water action – leading a team of programme and technical experts.

Estelle has a BSc (hons) in Environmental Science from the University of Southampton and a Circular Economy, Enterprise and Innovation MBA and is a member of IEMA

Outside of work, Estelle is accountable to her two small children - who share her sustainability goals as well as her interests in science, art and the natural world.

He has also supported some of the most promising SMEs, including Camco, University of Leeds spin-out C-Capture, and Lumicity.

With a vision of transforming the future of farming through the latest vertical farming innovations, pioneering tech, and solar power, Tristan is set to achieve his ambition of delivering a scalable and more sustainable food production industry within the next decade.

Tristan was a guest contributor to BBC Radio Norfolk’s programme ‘Could vertical Farming help feed the world?’ and has been invited to represent the vertical farm sector at the 2024 Farm to Fork Showcase at 10 Downing Street and earlier this year  featured on Sky News with Ed Conway, Could this be the future of farming?

Colin has worked in product development at Ecotone UK for over 15 years. True to the company’s mission to support Food for Biodiversity, Colin’s role is to work with natural, plant-based ingredients to create foods that are better for the health of people and the planet.

Under the Kallø brand at Ecotone, Colin has been at the forefront of plant-based innovations including the development of the brand’s Veggie Cakes, made with peas and lentils, Veggie Thins, made with chickpeas, and new Oat Cakes.

Last year he was invited to parliament with the Food & Drink Federation to speak directly to policy makers on the challenges of reducing fat, salt and sugar whilst increasing key nutrients such as fibre and protein.
